The Macau government wants to triple the number of direct flights from Beijing by the end of 2007 in order to attract more Chinese tourist to the territory, the director of Macau’s Tourism Services said Thursday.
Macau’s intention was announced on the same day that Hainan Airlines, the fourth largest air carrier in China, announced that from October 29 it would start a new daily direct flight between Beijing and Macau, which is a service thus far only provided by Air Macau.
