The U.S. Women’s National Volleyball Team fell in four sets 27-29,
22-25, 25-23, 21-25 to Brazil during the second weekend of the World
Grand Prix at Macau Forum in Macau, China.
Brazil, the two-time defending World Grand Prix champion and ranked
second in the world behind top-ranked China, improves to 5-0 during the
tournament. The United States falls to 1-4 as it has now lost once each
to the top three teams in the world in addition to 11th-ranked
Dominican Republic.
The U.S., Brazil and China are competing in Group D of the World Grand
Prix second weekend. China, undefeated after four matches, hosts
Dominican Republic later today. Team USA wraps up Group D action on
Sunday against Dominican Republic at 1 p.m. local time (1 a.m. ET),
while the top two world-ranked teams in China and Brazil clash
immediately after.
