Linkin Park has been forced to cancel concerts scheduled to take place in China and Taiwan after singer Chester Bennington injured his back. According to a press release, Bennington has been ordered by doctors to refrain from touring or any other physical activities.
The five gigs were slated to begin on October 12th in Shanghai, ending on the 21st in Macau. The dates were benefits to raise money for victims of the devastating earthquake that rocked China’s Sichuan province last spring.
However, donations from the tour promoter and matching funds from the World Bank will still go to Linkin Park’s Music For Relief foundation, which will distribute the money to post-earthquake reconstruction projects in the province.
Linkin Park has been working on new material, and plans to record and release a follow-up to 2007′s Minutes to Midnight next year, report by KBS.
Bennington’s long-in-the-works solo project is also tentatively slated to emerge sometime in 2009.
